Massage is Medicine

Regular massage can decrease anxiety levels, increase levels of the feel-good hormone dopamine, and reduce depression scores.

Massage therapy has been shown to help with pain, anxiety, and feelings of depression related to PMS, as well as other symptoms like water retention.

Session is performed on a massage table while the client is covered by a sheet.  Draping will be used during the session – only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

When you arrive a few minutes early, you will have time to use the restroom before your session.  We will discuss treatment.  I will leave the room so that you can undress and get under the sheet.  I will knock before I return and begin your session.  If you have any questions during the session, please let me know.  At the end of the session, I will leave the room again so that you can redress.  When you are ready and open the door, I will take payment and reschedule based on your proposed treatment plan.

The massage you receive is provided for the basic purpose of relaxation and relief of muscular tension. If you experience any pain or discomfort during this session, please immediately inform me so that the pressure and/or technique may be adjusted to your level of comfort.

Massage should not be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment and you should see a physician, chiropractor or other qualified medical specialist for any mental or physical ailment that you are aware of.

Massage therapists are not physicians and are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat any physical or mental illness, and nothing said in the course of the session given should be construed as such.

Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of "medicine" - it's human instinct to use touch for pain relief and comfort. There is nothing sexual  or sensual about true massage therapy. You can expect total comfort, modesty, safety, and security with a skilled, licensed, professional massage therapist, just as you would expect with any other healthcare practitioner. Your safety and comfort is my highest priority.
